A HUD certified housing counselor will work with and help you plan for buying a home.
We Help First Time Homebuyers
CCCS provides free monthly workshops and one-on-one sessions for first-time homebuyers. There is no charge for our classes or appointments. During these sessions you’ll learn about credit, affordability, additional resources, and the steps to buying a home.
After the workshop or individual session, successful participants receive a certificate recognized by the City of Savannah’s DreamMaker, GA Dream, and SC Housing down payment programs.
First Time Homebuyer Programs
CCCS monthly workshops and one-on-one sessions for first-time homebuyers are currently available by phone and virtually via Zoom.
During the one-on-one sessions, participants will work with a counselor to:
- Review and analyze their credit report
- Create a budget
- Discuss the steps to buying a home
- Review down payment assistant programs
- Create and action plan and goals for homebuying
Our monthly workshops are held on Saturdays via Zoom for 3 hours. During the monthly workshops, participants will learn about:
- Financing options
- Down-payment programs
- Working with a Realtor
- Making an offer on a home
- Home inspections
- Home owner’s insurance
- Closing a loan transaction
- Fair housing
- And more
After the workshop or individual session, successful participants receive a certificate recognized by the City of Savannah’s DreamMaker, GA Dream, and SC Housing down payment programs.
